Zeit Time Travel
Case Study
Introduction
Zeit was created for travelers that would like to time travel to the past and experience different eras and cultures. The website offers trips to different eras via a state of the art time machine. Each trip varies in duration but all trips offer a once in a lifetime experience.
Research
For this project I started with secondary research and then went on to interviews. The secondary research provided insight on how other travel companies targeted their demographics and what strategies they used.
The interviews helped me to better empathize with potential users and allowed me to learn their needs, wants, desires
and things to consider.
Define
My research offered the insight needed to define processes and proceed forward with the
Site Map, Empathy Map, Persona, User Flows, Story Board, Feature Roadmap and Project Goals Diagram.
They all played important parts for structuring information, defining a persona, showing different flows
for the website and what features are important for the functionality of the website.
Examples of the Empathy Map and Persona are shown below.
Design
Wireframes, Branding and UI's, oh my!
These were my wireframes, I really enjoyed this process because it started to shape what the website would look like.
Branding
Seeing all the elements come together was excited for this Zeit Style Tile.
UI Designs
And these are my UI designs for Zeit, it was exciting to see the overall result.
Test
The prototype and testing went very well. All participants stated that the prototype was easy to navigate, and use. There were not any points of friction, only a few things they wanted to note. These were a few informational elements that needed to be emphasized more. I made those revisions and it made everything flow together in a better way.
Conclusion / Next Steps
This project was challenging in a great way, because it has no direct competition. The experience I had working on this will help when I work on other new products that won't have any direct competition either. For that, I enjoyed every aspect of this project and enjoyed making it a "could be" project.
Next Steps? If the technology actually existed, I would prepare the files to handover to development and continue working together with them to help make this product the best it could be. Go Team!
